New Real Estate laws in Dubai

On September 25th 2019, a new law in the Real Estate realm was issued pertaining to the joint ownership of Real Estate in Dubai. There have been constant changes to the Real Estate laws in Dubai to assure that the government is striving to make positive changes to the market.

The new law applies to all major real estate development projects and jointly owned properties in Dubai, including those located in free zones and special development zones. RERA is in charge of regulating and inspecting the management and maintenance of jointly owned real estate properties and common areas. The Law is effective within 60 days of its publication in the Official Gazette.
